Anna has spent more than 17 years in recruitment – but she’ll be the first to admit she hasn’t always done it the way she does now.
Earlier in her career, Anna was a successful recruiter working within a traditional recruitment model. But two life-changing experiences made her question whether the way we recruit really works for everyone.
When her husband became seriously ill in his twenties, their family suddenly needed flexibility and a very different way of working. Then came their two daughters, and another realisation: traditional, full-time ways of working simply don’t fit everyone’s lives.
Anna knew recruitment could be better. So she built something different.
Today, Anna is the Founder of Valued Recruitment, a certified B Corp recruitment agency partnering with charities, universities, social enterprises, B Corps and purpose-led organisations across the UK.
With nearly two decades of recruitment experience, Anna works closely with organisations on the hires that really matter – from Executive and Board appointments to permanent and interim recruitment – while helping employers build more inclusive, human recruitment processes along the way.
Under Anna’s leadership, Valued has developed long-term partnerships with organisations including Global Witness, University of Leeds, Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Pregnant Then Screwed and Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, with many clients returning to Valued time and again as their teams grow and change.
Anna’s work now extends beyond recruitment. Through Valued’s Redundancy Support, she works with organisations and individuals navigating restructure and redundancy, providing personalised career support at a point when people need it most.
Anna isn’t interested in doing recruitment the way it’s always been done.
She’ll challenge the brief, question the process and say when something doesn’t feel right because being a good recruitment partner sometimes means having the conversations others won’t.
